A Gemio Square is a virtual, platform-specific right associated with a geographic location. It exists only on the Gemio platform and only for as long as Gemio provides it under these Terms.

A Square is not ownership, possession, tenancy, leasehold, easement, air rights, subsurface rights, or any other legal or equitable interest in the corresponding physical land, water, building, premises, venue or other real-world property. It grants no right of access, entry, use or occupation, and no rights over any trademark, brand or organisation connected with that location.

Holding a Square does not create any relationship with, endorsement by, or obligation of the real-world owner, occupier or operator of the location.

Multiple independent digital layers can exist at exactly the same geographic coordinates. Examples may include memories and historical content, social and community content, fundraising and charitable campaigns, conservation and impact layers, humanitarian or crisis layers, events, official or verified content, commercial, advertising, sponsorship and brand layers, buildings, floors and indoor spaces, altitude and 3D layers, augmented-reality and spatial experiences, and other layers introduced in the future.

A Square is one layer among these. It is non-exclusive with respect to other layers: it does not reserve the coordinate against every other digital use.

Holding a normal Square does not automatically give the Square holder ownership of, control over, exclusivity to, permission or veto over, or any economic, revenue or profit-sharing rights in any other layer at that location, unless Gemio expressly grants such rights under separate applicable terms.

Gemio may introduce additional independent digital layers associated with the same geographic location, including commercial, advertising, sponsorship, brand, official, fundraising, social, historical, spatial or augmented-reality layers. These layers may overlap with existing Squares and may have separate participants, rights, permissions, pricing and commercial models.

Holding a Square does not entitle you to advertising revenue, sponsorship income, revenue sharing or any other payment. Gemio may in the future offer separate programs with their own terms and eligibility criteria under which participants could receive benefits or revenue rights, but there is no current guarantee, promise or entitlement arising solely from holding a Square.

Gemio may allow verified real-world owners, occupiers, operators or other authorised parties to manage, restrict or authorise particular digital, spatial or augmented-reality uses connected with a physical location. Those rights are separate from, and may take precedence over, a virtual Square holder's rights in that respect.

A Square is a two-dimensional area at ground-level coordinates. It does not imply ownership of or control over a building, a basement, any particular floor, a roof, airspace, indoor space, or any current or future three-dimensional volume above or below the coordinate.

Subject to applicable law and these Terms, Gemio may add, modify, limit or discontinue digital layers, spatial features and platform functionality. An existing Square does not automatically expand to newly introduced layers merely because it shares the same location.

Gemio may introduce functionality allowing Square holders to list Squares for sale and to receive offers, subject to additional terms, eligibility and fees (currently indicated as a 20% marketplace fee on completed resales). This is not a commitment: no launch date, no guaranteed marketplace, no liquidity and no ability to sell at any particular time or price is promised.

A Square is a digital product for personal enjoyment. It is not an investment, security, financial instrument or store of value, and Gemio makes no representation about future value or any return.

Squares are priced at €1 per m², shown inclusive of applicable tax, which is calculated by our payment provider at checkout. A claim becomes permanent only after our server receives confirmation of payment from the payment provider. If a payment fails or a reservation expires, the area is released. If a payment is refunded or reversed, the associated Square rights are revoked and the area returns to the platform.

Gemio is an evolving service. Features described as coming soon or early access are not live functionality, and the platform may change substantially over time. Features and layers may be added, limited, modified or discontinued, and access to the service or to individual accounts may be limited, suspended or withdrawn.
